Reviews come from a small, invited circle. If you drink Negronis attentively and write plainly, ask.
House rules
01Order the classic
Gin, Campari, sweet vermouth. If the bar refuses or improvises, note it and score accordingly.
02Bar pours and home pours
Bar pours must be made by someone behind the bar — a bar, restaurant, hotel or private members club. Home-crafted Negronis are welcome too: mark the review as home made.
03Two separate rankings
Home pours are judged on the same craft marks, but they are ranked separately from bar pours and never appear on the map.
04Say nothing first
In a bar: no instructions, no preferences, no mention of this site. Judge what the house pours by default.
05Score four things
Balance, garnish, glassware and the overall impression out of ten.
06One visit, one review
Return visits get their own entry rather than an edit — bars change, and so does your own hand at home.
07Pay your own bill
No comps, no hosted trips, no sponsored pours. Ever.
